You will study three units:
Each unit counts towards a third of the overall marks. Units 1 and 2 are portfolio assessed and unit three is assessed by external examinations.
Unit 1—portfolio consists of an in depth study of two different job roles within two different sectors. You will be required to apply for a work placement in a health and social care setting for your work experience. Portfolio 33% marks.
Unit 2— Consists of an in depth Health Plan for an individual of your choice. This plan will include a detailed account of the individuals health from a personal, social, intellectual and emotional perspective. Your health plan will also include suggestions for your individual to improve their health. Portfolio 33% marks.
Unit 3—You will learn about the stages of human growth and development, the different factors that can affect growth and development. The development of self-concept and personal relationships, major changes and how people deal with them and the role of relationships in personal development. External examination 33% marks.
Two detailed portfolios which give 33% of marks per portfolio with an external examination for the remaining 33% marks.
